A group show of many artists related to Sin Sin Gallery. While many countries were represented, Indonesia stood out as one of the main focal points. It seemed that artists were asked to produce works in the shape of boxes or containers: Many works took this shape. A lot of the artworks used traditional craft materials like wood or textile. One could well sense the gallery owner’s taste for a certain kind of artworks that are made using own hands and natural materials, and approach that relates artworks to their place of creation through a tradition of craftsmanship. There were too many works to take them up individually but the materials as well as personal feel of each artwork gave me a homey and warm feeling.
